The end of august was marked by the Higher Grounds Music Festival in Denver. The festival took place in the artistic and creative RiNo (River North) district of Denver and showcased many emerging indie rock artists. “It’s a street festival with food trucks and vendors and games and kiddie pools and graffiti and 30 foot high magnificent street murals. It’s intimate, with a small footprint for you to navigate.”

The festival began on Thursday night with a Kick Off Party at Casselman’s Bar & Venue featuring national headliner JOYWAVE. On Friday and Saturday the music moved outside where there was beer provided by Blue Moon, Red Bull Slushies and Deep Eddy Vodka being served. There were also ample food trucks, kiddie pools and even a dunk tank to raise money for Youth on Record. Youth on Record is a non-profit determined to bring “methods of empowerment and behavioral modification through music education to youth in Colorado who need it the most.” WorldLife biodegradable bottles were being sold at the bars and our hydration station was centrally located for folks to conveniently refill their bottles and fulfill their hydration needs.

Higher Grounds Music Festival truly was a unique block party showcasing and encompassing some of the best things Colorado has to offer while highlighting the bright future of the emerging music scene. We look forward to working with this festival again, and we congratulate them on a great event!

The 5th Annual Fitness on the Rocks was on July 18 and was the best one yet! This is Colorado‘s premier outdoor fitness event that takes place at one of the most beautiful venues in the world, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and every year, it gets bigger and better, and this year was a BLAST!  Fitness on the Rocks truly shows the power of determination, hard work and community, and we were lucky to have the absolute best group of volunteers on the Hydration Team.  We could not have done it without all these amazing folks!

We were once again in charge of the most vital part of the day, keeping all of the hard working fitness enthusiasts cool and hydrated. This event is HUGE and Complicated, and uses all of our resources. We brought up 3 of our hydration stations, 26 5-gallon jugs and over 7,000 biodegradable bottles of water.

Throughout the day there were countless activities and vendors to keep everyone entertained. A variety of companies were involved this year to teach their speciality. The main stages featured classes with Orange Theory, Zumba, Body Combat, UJam Fitness and The River. Our friends at Fitness in the City and The River ran Yoga Cross classes all day long and Reebok sponsored a Pump & Jump. Aside from the workouts there were hundreds of vendors, DJs, food trucks and even an obstacle course!

The day was, as expected, extremely HOT. Aside from keeping everyone cool with misters and water guns, we helped set up and coordinate a massive Slip ‘n Slide, which was a great way to cool off after a workout. At the end of the day, we once again had the cool down of the year with the largest water fight in Colorado! By using all of our leftover water and ice melt for the water fight we were able to put our remaining water to good use! We brought up 4,000 biodegradable water balloons, 25 Super Soakers and thousands of custom WorldLife squirt guns. It was an all out free-for-all with water flying everywhere, and smiles across the entire top deck of Red Rocks!

This past weekend we returned to the gorgeous Kodiak Ski Lake in The Roaring Fork Valley just outside of Aspen, Colorado, this was our second year sponsoring and hydrating the XTERRA Aspen Valley Triathlon, and our third event with Without Limits Productions. This triathlon was different and exciting as an off-road triathlon, with dirt and mud, and some incredible scenery. It was a beautiful course, and a warm sunny day, which was perfect for the race.

The event began with a 1200 meter swim in the crystal clear Kodiak Lake. FullSizeRender

After the athletes finished their swim, they hopped on their mountain bikes and rode 6 or 12 miles on a challenging, unique off-road trail, that looked like a blast! FullSizeRender-1

The final part of the triathlon was a 5k run, which spanned fields of wildflowers, gorgeous vistas, and a very cool elevated boardwalk that took racers over some high alpine marshland! As they crossed the finish line, the WorldLife Hydration Pros were there to congratulate each racer with a refreshingly cold bottle of water. This was such an inspiring and incredible event that really encompasses all of the wonders of Colorado and what it has to offer. Congratulations to all the athletes!

What an amazing year 2014 was! We sponsored many events for the first time and enjoyed returning to work many events for the 2nd and 3rd time! We revamped our look with new bottles and we’ve established new relationships as we strengthened old ones. 2014 was one hell of a year for us here at WorldLife and we are so thankful that you all were a part of it!

The year started with a bang at The Spyder Active Lot Party which was part of SIA. We were thrilled to team up with the incredible Spyder team again for their official SIA Lot Party held outside of the Denver Convention Center.  As always, they definitely brought the party!  Free food, free drinks and live music played all night as the snow fell onto the busy Denver streets.  We were there to make sure everyone stayed hydrated!

As the days got warmer the people got thirstier and the events began filling our calendars. April was a busy month.

We sponsored The DAM Uncorked event at The Denver Art Museum for the second time.  Patrons were surrounded by delicious food and a huge variety of wine with all of the proceeds benefiting one of Denver’s most iconic and culturally important buildings. With all the food and wine it was vital for folks to stay hydrated throughout the evening.

One week later we sponsored The Hippity Hop Easter Trot in Stapleton. This was a family fun event where adults ran a 5k or 10k while the kids had a short race of their own! This Spring time event raised money to benefit The Denver School of Science and Technology. The Easter Bunnies did a great job keeping the racers hydrated.10168188_726993233989501_1200749324616144300_n

The last weekend of April was a celebration for our friends at Fluent Fitness and Fitness in the City. They had an incredible year and were celebrating their one year anniversary! This was a fun party filled with great people, fitness, food, giveaways and of course lots of water. We love being a part of their family and are so proud to watch them grow.

In early May we returned to hydrate the thirsty beer enthusiasts at the South Denver Beer Fest in Littleton. The South Denver Beer Fest featured over 120 craft beers over 2 perfect Colorado spring days. The weather was warm, the beer was flowing and the attendees were thirsty! We had a blast keeping everyone cool and hydrated.

June of this year was Snowmass Mammoth Fest and it was bigger and better than ever. The festival was spread between 2 locations in Snowmass, with the Chili tasting in the Snowmass Village Mall and the music and beer down in Snowmass Town Park. This year we did something special making custom reusable bottles for The Mammoth Festival, keep an eye out for this sleek bottle next year. Everyone was full of beer and chili, jamming to the tunes of Leftover Salmon, Xavier Rudd, The Motet and more and of course having a blast while staying hydrated!

July was a big month for us, as expected. 2014 was the 4th annual Fitness on the Rocks, which was the most EPIC fitness event of the year. In our 3rd year being the hydration sponsor, we joined our friends of Fitness in the City for 5 hours of fitness, high energy, sunshine, high fives, awesome vendors with endless schwag, tasty food trucks and the fabulous motivated and inspiring people that make up the community that is Colorado. Overall we had more 4,000 gallons of water floating around Red Rocks throughout the day! There were 5,000 biodegradable plastic bottles of water, and in an effort to reduce the overall waste created at the event, we brought up about 3,000 custom reusable ones (made from recycled plastic). A water truck with 3,000 gallons of water came to fill our 3 water monsters  and our  5 gallon jugs that we placed around the amphitheater, with all of the remaining water to be used during water fight. The fight included over 2,000 water balloons (biodegradable ones of course), foam water pumps and a variety of 50+ water guns. With more than 800 folks participating, balloons went flying, water was everywhere and people were drenched. Overall we would say this year was the best Fitness on the Rocks yet! We were so honored to be included in it again and we are excited to see how it grows and becomes even better next year!

In the end of July we headed up To The Roaring Fork Valley for The Xterra Aspen Valley Triathlon.  The Xterra Aspen Valley Triathlon is the most unique off road triathlon. It starts with a 1200m swim, followed by 12 miles on a mountain bike and ends with a 5k run. You had to be a really incredible, daring, and adventurous athlete to partake in this event and it was so inspiring to watch and hydrate!

In August we were at Glendale’s Bruises + Brews Beerfest. This beerfest is unique in that it has a rugby 7’s tournament to watch while tasting 20 (mostly local) craft breweries! It was another beautiful day in Denver and it was vital for everyone to drink plenty of water!

The end of August was the First Hike. Hope. Heal by the Aspen Strong Foundation. The Aspen Strong Foundation is a financial resource center supporting mental health, and Hike Hope Heal was their event to generate funds to offset the cost of mental health services for individuals in The Roaring Fork Valley. It was a large group hike up Smuggler and started and ended with a party in Herron Park. It was one of the rainiest days we’ve ever experienced in Aspen and still the incredible and supportive community came together to support a good cause.

The events did not end in the summer, September was another big month for us. First we provided the water for the Men’s Lululemon event at Fitness in the City. This event was to promote their men’s clothing line and offered a fitness class, BBQ and a DJ. IMG_2490

Later in September we returned to the beautiful mountain town of Telluride for Telluride Blues and Brews. Telluride Blues and Brews is a 3 day festival and is “one of the most scenic and intimate festivals in the country.” The festival was not solely about the music however, throughout the day there was so much to do- on Saturday there was a tasting from the best microbreweries in the country, while every day there was a wide variety of food and craft vendors, children’s activities and late night shows. We only give bottles to the artists and staff members running the event both at the venue and at their late night shows. We also brought backpacks that had 2 tubes that fill up 3 liters of water each. We wandered around the venue daily and reminded people to stay hydrated as we filled up their cups with water.

In October we were honored to be a part of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Greenwood Village. The event is “an incredible and inspiring opportunity to honor those who have battled breast cancer, raise awareness about what we can do to reduce our breast cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with research, information, services, and access to mammograms for women who need them.” This was a really meaningful event and we were grateful to be a able to contribute to it.

We ended our amazing 2014 with Decadence, “America’s largest New Year’s Dance celebration” where thousands of citizens reflected on 2014, celebrated life and welcomed 2015 with two extravagant nights of music, dancing, loved ones and pure happiness all supplemented by tons of water. Our 2 water monsters, 20 5-Gallon Jugs and thirst busters worked hard all night long to keep the water flowing. WorldLife was thrilled to provide the water and keep over 30,000 very thirsty folks hydrated, cool and ultimately alive throughout the 2 nights!

Decadence

On December 30th and 31st, The WorldLife Hydration Pros took on the exciting task of hydrating what felt like another dimension in The City of Decadence. Hosted by AEG Live, Live Nation and Global Dance Music, Decadence is “America’s largest New Year’s Dance celebration” where thousands of citizens reflected on 2014, celebrated life and welcomed 2015 with two extravagant nights of music, dancing, loved ones and pure happiness all supplemented by tons of water.

The party was in the Convention Center right in the heart of Denver, Colorado. The venue was lined with epic décor, magnificent art installations and world renowned artists. Split between 2 stages, The Global Dance Arena and The Bass Arena, both nights offered a mind blowing lineup for any EDM fan. Big names included Bassnectar, Kaskade, Grizmatik, Big Gigantic and Flux Pavilion.

As the citizens of The City of Decadence knew, a decadent night of indulging combined with 6 hours of dancing will be victorious as long as one stays hydrated. With 2 massive hydration stations, one at each stage, providing over 25,000 gallons (throughout the 2 nights) of FREE water, we can assume all (responsible) partiers ended their nights happy, safe and hydrated.

Thank you AEG Live, LiveNation, Global Dance Music and The Convention Center for a spectacular start to 2015!

The weekend of September 12-14 was spent in Telluride, Colorado as the water sponsors for The 21st annual Telluride Blues and Brews. Telluride Blues and Brews is a 3 day festival and is “one of the most scenic and intimate festivals in the country.” The music was diverse, there was blues, funk, jam bands, indie, rock, gospel and soul performances.  The festival was not solely about the music however, throughout the day there was so much to do- on Saturday there was a tasting from the best microbreweries in the country, while every day there was a wide variety of food and craft vendors, children’s activities and late night shows.

The festival itself wanted to create as little waste as possible so there was NO plastic bottles being sold on site, which we fully supported, but it meant we had to get creative with our event hydration. We only give bottles to the artists and staff members running the event both at the venue and at their late night shows. It was pretty cool seeing Buddy GuyLee Fields and The Expressions and so many other talented artists drinking WorldLife Water on a stage in front of 10,000 people. We also provided tents that were used as the entry way to the VIP area and the entry way to get into the venue from backstage.

We wanted to create a more personal presence throughout the festival so we brought some awesome hydration packs. These backpacks had 2 tubes that fill up 3 liters of water each. We wandered around the venue daily and reminded people to stay hydrated as we filled up their cups with water. Many people didn’t have cups, or their cups were full with beer so we had them get on one knee and squirted straight into their mouths. The “Thirst Busters” were a huge hit as it was hot and people were drunk. The festival attendees loved us and thanked us for easing their hangovers and providing hydration in a convenient manner. Some folks would even see us from afar and chase us down.

We left Telluride being known as “Water Boy” and “Water Girl” but overall we played a vital role, met some fabulous people, and had a blast at Telluride Blues and Brews and can’t wait to go back again next year!

July 19 was a highly anticipated date of the summer for us as we joined our friends of Fitness in the City for the 4th annual Fitness on the Rocks, the most EPIC fitness event of the year. This year marked our 3rd year being the hydration sponsor.

5 hours of fitness, high energy, sunshine, high fives, awesome vendors with endless schwag, tasty food trucks (Basic Kneads Pizza and Mad Greens) and great, motivated and inspiring people was just a small part of what makes up this massive event. This event brings together the amazing community that is Colorado and we were so honored to be included in it again.

Our biggest responsibility for this event was to accurately estimate how much water to bring in order to keep over 7000 hard working folks cool and hydrated. After much deliberation we decided on 5000 biodegradable plastic bottles of water and, in an effort to reduce the overall waste created at the event, we brought up about 3000 custom reusable ones (made from recycled plastic). A water truck with 3000 gallons of water came to fill our 3 water monsters (each holding 130 gallons of water) and 21 5 gallon jugs, any remaining water was to be used at the water fight. So overall we had over 4,000 gallons of water floating around Red Rocks!

As 6am hit, the sun began to rise and was mesmerizing and the fitness enthusiasts were arriving. The day began with a mile stair run (8 laps up and down the center stairs) and throughout the day people participated in core blast, yoga with The River, Zumba, Crossfit and body combat, there was really something for everybody. This year they even included a rice bag haul that raised money for Project Worthmore, “Project Worthmore (PWM) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of Denver-area refugees from Burma by providing cultural mentorship and community supports.” Heart rates were up, sweat was dripping and everyone was in good spirits.

If not for the scorching sun, we would hardly have realized 12 o’clock rolling around as we were so distracted and enthralled with all the exciting things going on around us. Anticipation and energy continued to soar as we were prepared to end the day with the biggest, most epic water fight. The fight included over 2000 water balloons (biodegradable ones of course), foam water pumps and a variety of 50+ water guns. With more than 800 folks participating, balloons went flying, water was everywhere and people were drenched. Participation wasn’t really a question as every person in that venue reverted back to childhood and had a smile from ear to ear, making sure that noone left dry. Full grown men were shrieking as barrels of water were being dumped on them and children and adults alike used bottles and buckets to pour water on anyone they came across. There were no rules and no exemptions. This was the perfect way to end a tremendous day. It was a great cool down, it helped us get rid of leftover water and it made for some pretty amazing pictures. The water fight was a huge success and we can’t wait to throw another one soon.

Overall we would say this year was the best Fitness on the Rocks yet and we are excited to see how it grows and becomes even better next year!

How much water should I drink in a day?  That’s a great question to which many people feel they have the answer.  Maybe you’ve heard the saying “8 glasses of water a day” or “8 by 8” referencing the amount of water you should guzzle down before 8 PM.  The latter is a great start, but many of us are not getting close to the recommended amount.

According to the Mayo Clinic, water comprises 60 percent of our body weight and plays an important role in keeping our body functioning.  “It flushes toxins from your vital organs, carries nutrients to your cells and helps provide a moist environment for your ear, nose and throat tissues”.

So how much should you drink daily?  While there are many factors to take into account such as elevation and climate, a good daily average to shoot for is roughly 3 liters of total beverages for men and 2.2 liters of total beverages for women.  It may seem like a tall task to drink that much liquid and we clearly don’t want that all to be sugary drinks, but drinking all that water can really do some good for your health. So be sure to hydrate with WorldLife Water wherever life’s adventures take you!

Funny-dog-I-love-water

What a crazy year 2013 has been.  From 5k’s to Fitness on the rocks to the telluride bluegrass festival, we’ve had one heck of a year at WorldLife.  We kicked off the year with the Spyder SIA afterparty.  Luckyiam from living legends got things bumping with live music while WorldLife and Carlsburg were served up cold to thirsty patrons.

We then made the trek up I-70 to support the Susan G. Komen foundation and their annual event, “Ski for the Cure”.   Costumes and plenty of pink were a necessity during the event, which raised funds for the Aspen Susan G. Komen Chapter.  We couldn’t have been more excited to be a part of such an awesome event.

St. Patrick’s day was full of green and irish cheer with Running Guru and their Lucky Laces race.  Competition was fierce as runners raced for the free beer provided by Odell Brewing.

In April, we sponsored the Denver Art Museum’s Uncorked event.  More food and wine than you could possible eat was served with all of the proceeds benefiting one of Denver’s most iconic and culturally important buildings.

May brought us warmer temperatures and with it, beer festivals!  Our friends at the first annual South Denver Beer Festival set up a great late spring event with all of the local favorites on tap.  Oh and the pretzel brats were pretty tasty as well!

One of our passions at WorldLife is music, and the Snowmass Mamouth Festival provided a great opportunity for us to spend some time in our favorite area and jam out to some awesome tunes. JJ Grey and Mofro, The Joy Formidable, and AWOLNATION were some of the highlights for us.  We can’t wait for next year’s event!

Then came the event we look forward to every year, Fitness on the Rocks!  10,000 people showed up to red rocks for one of the craziest events we’ve ever experienced.  Activities ranged from crossfit to yoga to zumba; something for everyone.   Next year’s fitness on the rocks is already in the works and we’re expecting it to only be bigger!

More importantly we want to thank all of you for continuing to support WorldLife Water.  We now have multiple sizes and a new label to boot.  We’re excited that so many people are making the conscious decision to buy a better bottled water.  We want to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday season.  Cheers!

Bike to Work Day 2013

Are you tired of sitting in traffic during your daily commute?  Feel like a change is necessary for your morning routine? Do you have a bike?  Well you’re in luck, Wednesday June 26th is “Bike to Work Day 2013“.  Typically celebrated in May across the US, the Colorado state legislature named June “Colorado Bike Month”, with the 4th Wednesday of every June being “Bike to Work Day”.  Helping make your commute more fun, this Wednesday will be chock-full of group rides, breakfast stations and after parties all throughout Denver. (Check out the map here)  Feel like work is too far away to commute by bike?  You can take public transportation or car pool to get closer to your destination (it’s kind of cheating but we promise not to tell).  Register here for this awesome event that attracted over 27,000 riders last year, and be sure to check out safe riding tips here to stay safe on your commute.  We’ll see you in the bike lanes, and don’t forget to hydrate with WorldLife Water!
